Taxonomy:   Macro  >>  Geometridae ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: Heavily marked with diagonal dark cross-lines on forewing and horizontal cross-lines on upper hind wing, and fine speckling over a silver grey-brown ground colour. Rather pointed wing tips. Male has long and broad feathery antennae. Strength of markings can be very variable
Distribution:  (Last record: 16/06/2022 )  -  A new species for Derbyshire that is very locally distributed in Britain away from southern England. Maybe a new colonist from populations in Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. One trapped on 16 June 2022 from Newhall.

Forewing: 15-20mm
Food Plant: Heather (Calluna) and Heath (Erica) as well as Broom (Cytisus scoparius) and Gorse (Ulex).
